We collect and store the following information to create and manage your account:

• Mobile number
• Subscription details (plan type, billing status, payment reference)

This information is used solely for account authentication, identity verification, and subscription/billing management.

1.2 Information Stored on Your Device

All of your financial and business data — including:

• Income and expense records
• Receipts, invoices, and uploaded documents
• Work zone/project details
• Tax-related records and reports

is stored locally on your device only. This data is not uploaded to, transmitted to, or stored on our servers. We do not have access to this information unless you choose to share it yourself (see Section 3).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the limited information we collect to:

• Create and authenticate your account
• Verify your identity via email or mobile number
• Manage your subscription and process billing
• Send important service-related communications (e.g., login verification, subscription renewal, security alerts)
• Provide customer support when requested

We do not use your name, email, or mobile number for advertising or sell it to third parties.

3. Sharing and Exporting Your Data

Since your financial data lives on your device, you are always in control of it. You may choose to:

• Email data or reports — Export your records or generated tax reports and send them via your device's email client to yourself, your accountant, or another recipient of your choice.
• Share reports — Use your device's native sharing features to export and share reports (PDF, CSV, or similar formats) with third-party apps or contacts.

When you use these features, the data leaves your device only because you initiated the action. We do not intercept, access, or store copies of data shared this way. Once shared, the recipient's own privacy practices apply.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Account data (name, email, mobile, subscription details) is stored securely on our servers using industry-standard security practices, including encryption in transit.
• Financial and tax data is stored locally on your device and protected by your device's own security features (e.g., device lock, biometric authentication, OS-level encryption).
• If you uninstall the app or lose your device, locally stored data cannot be recovered by us, as we do not retain a copy.

We recommend enabling device-level security (passcode, biometrics) and regularly backing up or exporting important records.

5. Data Retention

• Account information (name, email, mobile, subscription details) is retained for as long as your account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal and accounting obligations.
• You may request deletion of your account and associated server-stored information at any time (see Section 8).
• Locally stored financial data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.

6. Third-Party Services

We may use trusted third-party service providers for:

• Authentication (e.g., email/SMS verification)
• Payment and subscription processing

These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their function (e.g., email, mobile number, or payment details) and are bound by their own privacy and security obligations.

7. Children's Privacy

Chat Tax is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

• Access or update your account information (name, email, mobile)
• Request deletion of your account and associated server-stored data
• Export or delete your locally stored financial data at any time, directly within the app
• Withdraw consent for optional communications

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
